I have been trying to contact them through emails, live chat, telephone, but nothing seems to work. In their hosting plan, I got one domain. But the site often remains down, so I want to shift my site to some other providers. How can I point my domain to some other providers. It seems to me that I cannot do it from the customer panel. Any suggestions will be welcome

I'd join a lawsuit. Do we sue in New Jersey or California?

I hope someone get this going quickly. From the beginning of setting up our hosting business we decided to have multiple accounts with different companies, just in case something like this happens. but for the life of me I don't know what HD expect from the people the do business with. We have an account with them that basically have 50+ accounts and all are down, the website portion is now working but no emails. All these account are commercial, I must add so its only a matter of time before we loose them. As it is now, we are scrambling to move these accounts but with the slow pace of the servers it is almost impossible. I hope we will get over this and move on. At the moment we are seeking other host to move to but will be careful. An example should be set and send a message to these guys who only care about the subscription fees.

After reading all the negative reviews about Hostdepartment concerning the complete downtime of their servers in the last 3 weeks, we have decided to start a dedicated action against them.

The above email address should be used to place your complaints and join our mission to bring them to justice for the damage they have done to our businesses.

If enough companies join up to this action, we will endeavour to sue them on a large scale to achieve the compensation they should be paying. This action could eventually cripple them completely.

Remember, "Together we stand". This is the only way to punish them for their actions.

We have 4 websites with Hostdepartment. Since starting with them in 2005 we have had nothing but problems, The support service used to be good, but never for a long period. This time the servers, emails, chat, ftp etc have all been down for over 2 weeks. this is completely unacceptable to any business. We are now seeking legal advice and, if possible, we will be claiming compensation for damage to our business. They have a responsibility to answer all service calls and, more important, to release the transfer authorisation code, so that one can transfer a website to a different hosting company. The failure to do this, is damaging to any company and compensation for this is almost certain.

when you read the "Mission Statement" from their owner, it makes you laugh. Do they hohestly believe that we believe all that bullshit they have written?

After they have sorted out their problems, we will certainly change our hosting company and we recommend that you all do the same. Hostdepartment is too expensive, undermanned and completely irresposible. This is not the first time they have had serious downtime problems;it happens all the time. They always have an excuse for these, but for the customers, there are no acceptable excuses!

You can't change at the moment, because they are not answering support tickets or phones; completely irresponsible and unacceptable

Does anyone know of an alternative to Hostdepartment. They offer good features, but nothing seems to be working now. They have even switched off their support@hostdepartment.com email account. I have not been able to access pop3 email for over 2 weeks now. Webmail sometimes works but doesn't most of the time.

Stay away from them

Hostdepartment sucks. I have been with them for 5 years now. The 3 months, nothing works. My email is down, mysql down, websites down and nobody answers the tickets. No chat and no telephone service.

I got an email saying they will reimburse everyone $10. I am tired of all the BS and moving somewhere else. They only give excuses, saying it will be fixed in 1 hour and get nothing fixed.

I cannot get my backup data to make all the transfer to the new host...:(

very sad..:(

Not sure what is going on; up until two weeks ago I tried accessing host department, their phone number doesn't work, live chat doesn't work, nothing works, I've submitted tickets and have gone unresponsive for 3 days now. Anybody know what's going on?
