I am working on a saturday moving sites because vi have decided to migrate/close down an entire data centre, having given 5 days notice to their customers, resulting in what would otherwise be 6-8 hours of outage tonight.

As usual there is always a mishmash of reviews. You sometimes wonder whether it is just the competition taking a few low blows.

And the reason I say this is because we have been a customer of VI's for just under a year and we have a complex private cloud solution which has been up forever and a day (actually just under a year). The consultative pre-sales was outstanding and they were able to cut 25% of the cost off our original design, implementation was to plan and on time and the ongoing support has been outstanding. We are an SLA customer and have direct access to a 3rd line engineers.

I would certainly recommend Virtual Internet to anyone looking for that something extra special.

- Hardware Failures
- Network Failures
- No out of hours support
- No support on Bank Holidays
- Rude / Clueless support team
- Poor Communications

I could not find any reviews before signing a 12 month contract. Really hope someone finds this page before signing up.

PLEASE STAY AWAY!

VI have to be the worst hosting provider out there, once we noticed our server down during a massive marketing push, we then asked for a monitoring solution to keep an eye on our so called “100% up time”.
The monitoring solution really highlighted how POOR the service really is and how constantly the server goes down.
Coupled with the fact, that staff (including the MD) are not helpful, nor apologise for any inconvenience, nor seem competent to provide the service they advertise.
We have lost business for this solution and are given no reasons for the outage and just reply to our messages in a rude and abrupt manor.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE – STAY CLEAR OF VI

VI continue to be a very reliable vendor for us and their sales and support team always go the extra mile to provide support.

I’ve not had a good experience at all with Virtual Internet. I've been with them for many years, and have generally found them to be quite good. Over the past year though my dedicated server started crashing regularly due to a software fault with the Ensim control panel they used.

I was made to pay for a migration to one of their cloud servers with a supposed 100% uptime guarantee as they could not fix the discontinued Ensim control panel. I did not dispute the cost at the time as I wanted the migration done quickly. ( Even though im pretty sure their legal obligation to the consumer is to do this without any charge and with minimal inconvenience. )

The migration took about 3 weeks to be completed. Two weeks went by before they even started work on it!

Now I am finding that the 100% guarantee appears to be farce. Their cloud servers have crashed for extended periods twice in the past month. Last time for over 12 hours, and the current crash as I write this is getting on at least two hours. I won’t be surprised if it is tomorrow before it is fixed. That’s what happened last time. I also get a daily error message from the server, which im told by support I can ignore. It is still very irritating though.

I feel very disappointed with Virtual Internet.

Virtual Internet has been a great host in my opinion. My server dedicated server has not once been disconnected and network speeds have been great, although I have asked support to check whether I am on a 100mbps Full duplex port (pretty sure I am not) they have not replied as of yet. Speed is excellent and users of my services are very happy with the speed. Even visitors from the US say we are faster than mine craft servers running in the US! Only gripe to date is the price of additional IP addresses. 20 or so pounds for 10 IP's per month :(

Avoid, at all costs. Unfortunately I'm also tied into a 12 month contract, counting down the days until I can leave.

Poor uptime, network connectivity issues, no staff on site at the data center, no security on support phone line (so anyone can phone up and make changes to your server).

Don't be tempted by the cheap(ish) prices. You get what you pay for. I looked around for vi.net reviews before I signed up and could not find any - hopefully this will help someone from making the same mistake I did.

Stay away from this provider. We were promised 100% uptime on Network but it has gone down on numerous occasions.

VI has been a very damaging experience for us and our site. We transfered to their hosting solution promising 100% uptime and we were up for a surprise. Our site crashed everyday and we not only had to pay for people to be online all the time to keep the site going, we had advertisers and partners leave beacuse of the unreliability of their service.

And now they say that we can't leave because we have signed a 12 month contract which they cant uphold. And we paid extra for the transfer of the site too...

They are crooks. Don't even go there.
