Hi, I am VERY thrilled to use WEEBLY in my computer lab class and after much connectivity issues on Sept 27/28, I finally got my students set up with an account. BUT! We have been unable to remain logged in or even log in! We keep getting an error message or it just "hangs" forever. Has there been a connectivity issue? Can all of my 25 students log in and edit their pages all at once? Please advise. Thank you.

Hey Laura,

VERY sorry for the frustrating issue. Our servers weren't down - there was a connectivity problem through AT&T DSL in the Southern US. We tweeted about it a bit after you posted here.

It was fully resolved last night and is not something that should come up again.

I have loved Weebly, until the last 12 hours. I live in Mississippi and I cannot load my page. I continue to get Problem Loading Page errors. It notes a server is busy or down. :( Weebly hasn't tweeted, FB, or posted any problems and now I'm frustrated. If Weebly would just notify me that something is wrong, I would feel much better right now.

Hi Ian,

Thanks for the nice comments. Just noticed your negative points, so I wanted to address them.

You wrote:

1. No robot.txt what that means is google bots can not find your website, if they are doing a organic search.

My response:

This is not accurate. Robots.txt files are used to tell Google if you DON'T want a page on your site to be indexed. Robots.txt is not important in the actual indexing of the site.

You wrote:

2. No built in site map, so google can crawl your site.

My response:

Sitemaps are automatically created for sites on Weebly at http://example.weebly.com/sitemap.xml or http://www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml in the case that you're published to your own domain name.

We have millions of users and they are all able to get their sites indexed. We would not want to leave our users without any tools to improve their SEO.

EDIT: My previous post

I have some experience with website building

I've had my website up and running for a little while now and its great. Please note that I'm not an affiliate of Weebly. I was just looking for a way to publish my thoughts and opinions and weebly's free offerings were the best I've seen. I have tried google web creator and couldn't quite wrap myself around it. I've also looked in places like Wix which, by the way, looks like a scam and some other places as well. They were all pretty much offering a trial period(15-30 days) and then I had to purchase. They were also limited in the amount of pages and in most cases, they didn't come right out and say, free blog. That was when I found weebly and I went with it despite the bad rakes they also have gotten.
However after reading a large section of the comments made I'm glad that I decided on Weebly since it seems that the main problems were either:people not reading the instructions at all, interpreting them incorrectly, personal computer and internet issues.
Although I have not had much experience with website building(I'm more create an application from scratch person), I know this, whenever you are building something whether its just synching together various completed sections or from scratch, you must remember to 1. Wait a little and 2. Test ( if possible,in as much applications that the web provider/host specifies.)

Concerning people who went through the respective processes to get the code for the header from Google Webmaster, please choose the meta-tag option.

As for getting your site to pop up, you're going to have wait a while. I remember needing the submit my school project url so that it comes up in google and it took a month or more after I submitted it to various search engines. Submitting your site once every two weeks should keep them active and keep you off the search engine spam list.

Contacting them
I personally have contacted Weebly customer support concerning a feature and they responded to me in quick succession. Politeness and proper english goes a long way with customer support.

In closing, please remember that Weebly most likely is being used by people around the world along with other websites as well. That means that at certain sections of times, the world web traffic would be extremely congested. Plus they're only humans trying to fix every crease, crinkle and hole. No application is error-free, plus designers, the builders, the programmers can only do so much as far as testing is concerned. Having experience in all of these areas, I know that they are looking at it from a more technical point of view whilst trying to maintain the user-friendly output we see. It's our job to help them spot what they may have missed. To me, its like an iceberg, the front end we see is only 10%, the backend however, where all the true action takes place, is the 90%. I can personally say that Weebly is doing an excellent job.

It works for what it is. I've yet to run into anything major as far as glitches and do have a pro account. Yet to decide if that was a good decision really or not, but it's working at the moment. You can customize the pages as much as you'd like up to a point. If you ever wanted to upload to your root directory, such as a robot.txt file, you're SOL. I really wish they would fix that. If they fixed the robot.txt issue it would be perfect, but as of right now that's my only complaint.

I think weebly is very well for people that have not much skills with website building and also usefull for people that have.. I aint got much experience with website building and even I am proud of my site :) I think also positive about google Ads you can choose if you want it or not :P better than all the cheap stuff.
only negative point for me is: cant find myself in google...

Weebly what is happening with your customer service. Through repeated emails telling you of my problems I still have not had the problem solved. The money I paid to weebly is good money that could have been used elsewhere if only I would have done my research.Let me state my problem again. THE SITE IS NOT LAUNCHING IN ANY SEARCH ENGINE KNOWN TO MAN.
The answer keeps coming from your support that " I CAN LOAD THE PAGE ON MY END ". Well it cant be accessed unless i send the site address as a link in a email. After finally finding this review site I see that I am not alone with this problem. Please Remember that you have my money and I am due my proper service.

A couple of things that are not satisfactory about Weebly.

1. No robot.txt what that means is google bots can not find your website, if they are doing a organic search.

2. No built in site map, so google can crawl your site.

Other than those two huge issues, weebly is easy to use there email support is fast albeit they use a general response to your inquiry.

Good luck hope you guys implement those robot.txt and site maps so your links can be found on organic searches.

I was going to upgrade to pro until I saw my google webmasters tool. Robots.txt file 404 (Not found)
