I may have missed something but looking at Weelby's info I don't see where it says that if you switch over to your own domain name the Weebly footer is automaticly removed. It does however say that if you upgrade to PRO than you have the option of removing that footer.

To Looking...
I have two sites and am quite pleased with what I have accomplished with Weebly. Granted every system is different and not everyone is satisfied for one reason or another. Don't take my word or anyone elses for it, just try it yourself. It's free and all you have to lose is your time.
I never made a website before in my life so when I discovered Weebly I gave it a shot. Through trial and error I made one site than another. It's about as simple to use as it can get and if I can figure it out, anybody can.
For my system (Vista Home) the pictures download very fast. I can download one or a bunch at a time and even rearrange them once they are finished. I update my site quite often and it publishes every time.
The only problem I had was that it took about 6 months for the search engines to recognize my site so that could possibly be an issue for some. So anyway all you can do is give it a shot and judge it for yourself. http://twincitycruisers.weebly.com/

I'm looking for a free internet service to post some stories up and I've seen some other free nets. I have also seen a TON of posts here and I would really like some answers... Is it hard to load images? Is it slow? Does it work okay for a mac? How about on a laptop? Will it publish the things that I write and make it live? Is the support team quick? If you could, I would like ACTUAL users, not people who work for Weebly, as I would like to know if the things I publish is going into the right hands.

I'm researching comparatives between WordPress and Weebly. I haven't had the problems described here with Weebly yet. I do have a couple of other issues as a designer. I like to create themes. I've created a few so far.

1- I'd like to have control over separate columns for content. Is there a way to have more than one content area?

2- Can I adjust the text margins or padding in a text column? When I add a 2-column text module, there is little space between them. I want to add a gutter.

My proficiency level with computers is fair AND I have been able to create an impressive website using Weebly. The features that it offers are practical and suitable for my needs. It is easy to use and --best of all -- it is FREE! It's terrific.

we just started our new blog using weebly http://www.DriftersBlog.com and so far we LOVE it. there are some things we'd like to tweak up here and there, but overall, for us, a couple of travelbugs who have no idea how this web world works, weebly is a godsend. we can post up great pictures and articles to keep our friends posted. and btw we opted to get our own domain, looks hotter ;)

@horsegirl Have you checked out our version of Weebly specifically tailored for education? It's located at http://education.weebly.com and allows teachers to accept homework assignments online, manage their students' accounts, and more. The student accounts are never prompted to upgrade or pay.
