Default Frontpage for paid / premium hosting users - 04-16-2012, 07:56 PM

Hiya

Just a quick question about the premium hosting - it lists "frontpage" with a tick next to it as one of the features. However, there is no more information available about this!

I am assuming this means that the client will be able to use/access MS FrontPage to edit their webpages? Would this be correct?

If so, is this an online version, or full desktop version? If anyone has any more detail about this feature, it would be much appreciated!

Thanks
Roxy

You will be able to install FrontPage Extensions and publish your website directly from your own Frontpage application.

Ok, thanks - but you would still have to purchase Frontpage seperately?

I'm doing some research on behalf of someone who has no web design knowledge or specialist programmes but would like to make updates themselves, so saw this and thought it may be handy for them!

Yes I suppose so, that's pretty much all it says in cpanel. You can choose where you want the extensions installed, on a subdomain only for instance. Doesn't have to be on the whole site.

I have been using Frontpage to make my webpages and uploading for years. I got an older version of Frontpage 2003-or4. You should be able to get that office 2003 cheap now. Good luck

Thanks flemming, and yeah didn't think about that, the older stuff can't be too expensive! She's decided she doesn't want to update it herself in the end anyway, makes life easier!
