I am planning to upgrade my account and would like to know more detail.

Is there still a free domain offer? What is the different between private SSL and share SSL? Should I still need to get my own cert(and pay extra) to let my website browse-able using "HTTPS"? thx

The free domain offer is still there, you also get upgraded to the gold plan if you mention that you have a free 000webhost account.
