Unhappy 6000 files limit : why ? - 08-14-2009, 07:18 PM

Hi all !

I have a problem because I will soon reach the limit of 6000 files. I have read your messages to override this limit by using a zip file if I understood. But this is far too long and binding. So 2 questions:
- What is the limit of 6000 files if it can legally be exceeded?
- Is it possible to remove this limit while remaining on a free account?
I hope someone can give me a trick to override this limit ... or an admin wanted to abolish or reassess higher.

Thank you.

PS : sorry for the bad english

Yeah, the only way to bypass the FTP quota is to well, not use it at all. There is a tool called 1-Click Web Restore, inside your Cpanel. *.zip up your website, and upload. It's much much faster.

It's not so fast when we have a lot of files and of kilooctets on the server. So i ask again my first question : why this file limit if everybody makes the strategy of zip files ?

I think the more files (Regardless of the size) slows down the disc.
