We will check what can be done here. However, you may still sue custom error pages with .htaccess file.

just put this in your htaccess file
ErrorDocument 404 error404page.html
replace 'error404page.html' with your own error page

I don't think we will make this feature, because redirects to our ad supported 404 error page earns us some money to pay for 2-3 servers every month
Anyway, as dpaladin said, add one single line to .htaccess and you are done.
