Smile I can not get started! - 11-23-2011, 10:17 AM

hi, I just got an account:

1. I erased the default php.
2. I uploaded the other file.
3. I got into the domain.

4. It appears INDEX of/

I thought I would see the username and password window and I would be able to change themes and write the first homeworks!

Can anybody help me to get in?

Best regards.

What was the other file you uploaded? To upload files either go into members area http://members.000webhost.com/login.php and then into cpanel and use the file manager or use an ftp client. In members area you can also create a website using the website builder.

THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR SO FAST ANSWER!

I went to the Getting started information and I used the web based files manager
Then I erased the default file and checked the public html and uploaded it, I logged in again and there were the files public_html, ftp.quota and DO NOT UPLOAD HERE,

I did not up load anything else and in the domain:
les.host56.com it appears just:
http://les.host56.com/
Index of /
I used moodle a year ago as a student and I started a moodle group, now I found this host and I really want to learn how to do it well, I think moodle is great but I am a newcomer.

Thanks.

I think moodle has a problem with having too many files (over 10,000, 10.000 being the limit) Whatever you upload has to go inside public_html folder

There is no file given by 000webhost, the public_html folder is already there, you either create a website using the website builder or upload your own into public_html

EDIT: What exactly do you want on your website? You have to put it there yourself, do you want a blog? Something that you can post on, or others can post on?

I think I am really lost!

I went to the Webhost site in order to create a moodle course, a virtual Learning Environement where some colleagues were able to post their audio recording either in NanoGong or audacity, but I have no idea what I did!

I thought I was opening a moodle VLE. I am now even more lost than I was at the begining.

Moodle has too many files for 000webhost unless you upgrade and you would also have to install it yourself or you could always go here - http://www.free-installations.info

I'm a little lost myself, you thought moodle was already installed? Were you looking at two websites at the same time and mixed them together?
