Default Mysql persistent connection or not? - 02-22-2009, 09:19 PM

Given the number of people having trouble with mysql time out and connection problem I think we all can contribute to reduce the issue by not use persistent connection present with the choice during the mysql installation.

I believe there are only so many number of connection on a particular server and if you setup your site to use a persistent connection you basically limiting other people chances of using the connection when your site might not using the connection.

So I call for everyone to avoid using persistent connection for the good of everyone that is sharing this wonderful free hosting.

What do you say?

Its a bigger problem when ppl are using nulled software such as VBulletin which is the worst, resource killing software ever created. There could be only 1 or 2 visitors online and you will reach 2 simultaneous connections at the same time and start getting errors.

So never use VBulletin , IP.board or datafile.
Use myBB and you will never get any problems.

Is it OK to use my custom-made forums? They're "Lite" editions (much easier to create) and use new connections by default (thanks to MySQLi defaults )
