in most ftp file managers you can go to a specific directory and go to a file to link to from an out side application allowing that application that is say sitting on the users desktop to link to your site to download what ever (an example would be a flex application linking to a update.xml file to check the version to see if updates are needed)

BUT

this stupid file management system when you rtight click in firefox to get the files link (rightclick -> copy link location) gives me nothing but java script shit.
i need a way around it to see where the file is so Air can say ok, link to this file check the version, ok the version is diffrent now link to the new application , download and install

the question is, how do i get around the fact that rightclicking and seeing the property of any link in your cpanel youll get javascrip code instead of html code?

ok and now every time i click on the file manager (either of them) i get "done" in the bottom left hand corner and the page hasnt loaded and refreshing does nothing.

wtf is going on? first i rightclick to save links and get java crap, and then the file manager dosent work properly......
