Default Simple Machines 2.0 RC2 does not work - 12-09-2009, 04:04 AM

Everything else seems to go smoothly but mods don't work. Even though I can install them, none of them ever show up in the settings. So basically nothing happens when I install them. And uninstalling is impossible also.

After 5 hours and 5 cleans installs of trying to get SMF 2.0 to work, I finally tried a different hosting company and it worked like a charm the first time. This leads me to believe that the problem has to be with hosting, not my settings (because I've tried EVERYTHING).

Does anyone know a solution for this? Is there something I might be able to do in the control panel to fix this?

Thanks.

Did you have the chmod or some other setting different, as I tried SMF 2 here before a while back and had no problems with mods, so I don't think its the host.

Yeah, I've ran SMF 1.1.11 and 2.0 RC2 and have been able to install themes and modifications simply and both of these were on 000webhost accounts, too.

I have no idea what the issue is, to be honest. The only solution would be to, as sizzle stated, make sure everything in the FTP client is CHMODDED appropriately. If everything is set to what's recommended then I have absolutely no idea.
