I use Joomla 1.5.0 and can't complain about that... I didn't try 1.5.3 so can't say. I have some problems uploading files and installing components on two accounts but I don't know if it is because the host or Joomla. Still I think this is a good host, and sometimes it seems that certain accounts just don't work well. (I use few of them: Some work great, some not). Maybe making a new account might help, who knows. Sounds silly, but maybe worth trying.

There are always minor hiccups when you install Joomla on a free webhoster that doesn´t necessarily have all the options activated that Joomla would like to see active. For most of the problems there are workarounds available, some of them...well...you just have to live with them or move to a host with those functions enabled

I just successfully installed Joomla here. There weren't any Problems at all and it works beatifully:

Even though its german, you should be able to see that its working just fine.
And I didn't have any experience with joomla before.
