Default Problems accessing jooma admin back end - 10-02-2010, 05:19 PM

Hi all.

I just installed joomla and got ahead of my self ... on the final screen, when prompted to edit your config.php file, (which I did) ... I forgot to click to 'finish' button, and entered the root of my web space instead.

Clicking back didn't work - web page expired etc..

So, have I screwed up my install? Do I have to do it again. The generic (sample data) homepage is there when I enter my web address - but I can't access the admin area!

Is there some under the bonnet tweak I can perform, to correct the error I made by during install?

Durandal

Actually, you don't need to reinstall your joomla. Just go to configuration.php, clear every line in it, and then save. (Make sure that you didn't delete the folder installation!!)
After that you type in the address you intall joomla again, then you will be back at the joomla installation page again.

Useful tip: Don't delete the installation folder, rename it instead !
