Unhappy can't install new component to my csm - 03-20-2009, 10:21 PM

i can't install a new editor to joomla, how i can do this.
using, filezilla, i have uploaded the directory that contains my new editor in a temp directory that i have create, and now i dont now how i can install it??

Inside Joomla (admin panel), is there an option to upload components?

yes and there are 3 options:
from archive
from installation directory
from url
i can't use the first one because it browse in my computer where is the new editor that i want to install, the 2 oyher choices, i dont know what i should do.

For the first option, I think you can choose the .zip file. If you can find it on your computer, you can browse to it and select this. Let me know if this works. Otherwise you may be able to give the URL of the download location. Let me know what happens.

from url it gives me this error:


* Echec de la connexion au Seveur Distant, failed to open stream: operation failed
* URL non valide


and from my desktop it gives this error:
Warning: is_dir() [function.is-dir]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/:/usr/lib/php:/tmp) in /home/a6791140/public_html/libraries/joomla/filesystem/folder.php on line 362

i have tried to install my editor in local server, and i have got a message, it lack an xml file inside my zip file!!

I think your tmp folder is messed up, or linked to wrong. Did you change it in the config file?
