Default Joomla template won't upload. I spent money and it's going to waste. - 05-11-2009, 07:41 AM

Alright so I've been trying to install YOOtheme's Ambient theme all day now. I downloaded directly from their website so I know the file is fine. I'll show you in pictures so it's much easier for you too SEE what's the problem.

Here's the error I get after the upload is complete.

I tried to FTP instead but Joomla's CPanel won't show the file at all.

I suspect you did not set your template folder to be world writable. You must do that in order to install the template.

Thanks for the quick response. I have the same post on Joomla's forums and I haven't gotten a response. How do I set my template folder to be world writable? I've been able to install other templates just fine but the one I truly want to use is the one that won't work haha.

If you can install other template but not this template then I think this template has a bug.

That might be the problem, i'll try downloading it again from YOOtheme. Could you tell me how to change permissions though?

After using FTP (CyberDuck) to upload the files, I tried uploading it through Joomla and it wouldn't allow me to because it said there was already a file there. So I know Joomla knows the files are there but it won't show them.

in your filemanager set permission to 777 also you might need to do fix file permission before you can change it.

It could also be that the file quota is exceeded, you may want to check that also, can you still upload files via FTP?

So I changed the permissions to 777 and now I'm getting this error.
