I wouldnt say it will take days, because by the looks of it there working on it now, they might have encountered a problem while fixing it.

Server has hardware failure, we are now working on faulty hardware replacement and server will be online soon. Your data is safe and secure and was not affected.

The first message that was in the cpanel said:

That was at 20:00hr GMT it is now 02:00hr GMT, they now say that it is down due to hardware failure ??

So what is it then I am confused is it down for maintenance or is down because of a SATA controller ????

Most hosting company's have redundancy systems designed to prevent this type of longterm outage. Ie a server that has the backups on and detects when the main server has been down for a set time, it then takes the load until the main box is back up and running.

In this case you would need to setup 3 servers - one for load balancing, and 2 servers holing the same content of user files (in case one is doen another continues serving). Moreover, you would need 2 MySQL servers too (as we host MySQL on remote part) and one more server for DNS.

So to have 1 server which would have 100% uptime we would nee to setup 6 servers... Well, if you will find any free web host that can afford this, please let all our users to know about it.

What about server14 - is in recovery phase, will be online soon.
