hi all im new to this site and forum and was hoping for some assistance to help get me started.i have the name but thats all ive got for the site so far and ive spent 2 days going through this forum looking for the right thread but came up empty.. im just looking for some one to help me step by step till i can get the hang of it.. thank you..

ive uploaded some tester pages to the folder it told me to, but for some reason i cant seem to get the site open to start editing it the server keeps timing out so i dont no if i did anything wrong or i just dont no wot im doing.

Is there a file called index.html or index.htm or index.php that you have uploaded?

Yes, could you say exactly what is inside the public_html folder?

i had a home page in there but changed it to index page

If that's all that's there and you have a copy of that file then I'd go to "Cleanup / Reload Account" in members area and start again.

ive tried that
ive also tried uploading my site from web page maker but it keeps saying

Unable to establish a connection to server:

Publishing Failed !
so as u can c im pretty stuck lol

I don't know what you've uploaded so it's hard to say, you won't be able to upload remotely as you've tried though as remote connections aren't available to free users.
Ii'd cleanup/reload the account and upload using the file manager in members area if I was you.
