Default I let my domain expire, what IP can I access it at? - 04-14-2012, 07:12 AM

It says IP is 31.170.160.77 but it gives a 404 error when I go there. Is it /mydomain or /myusername (a234234234)?

I have ftp access to the IP but not http access.

Thanks.

Hi,
Your website is on a shared server (and free).
You must use the name of your domain/subdomain to access your website.
What is your domain/subdomain?

Seeing as you have ftp, why not download your site, create a new account and upload it there.

The fludded.net domain is not pointing at 000webhost servers.

Are you sure that you have purchased / registered this domain before creating your account in 000webhost?
Code:
Domain Name: FLUDDED.NET
   Registrar: TUCOWS.COM CO.
   Whois Server: whois.tucows.com
   Referral URL: http://domainhelp.opensrs.net
   Name Server: NS1.RENEWYOURNAME.NET
   Name Server: NS2.RENEWYOURNAME.NET
   Status: clientTransferProhibited
   Status: clientUpdateProhibited
   Updated Date: 15-apr-2012
   Creation Date: 11-apr-2010
   Expiration Date: 11-apr-2013

Looks as though it is due for renewal looking at the ns records tucows have dropped in there.

As deiti said, you are using a shared & free web hosting which means - that IP is used by everyone. You will need a domain to point out to the name servers of 000webhost to publicize (or view) your website.

And make sure you point out your name servers (on your domain's panel) to ns01.000webhost.com and ns02.000webhost.com.

no, what i'm saying is that i used to own fludded.net and the nameservers were set to 000webhost, but i didn't renew my domain, so now i don't own it anymore. i wanted to know how to access the files through http using the ip of the server (/home/a4656487)

thank you though

Simples.

Add this entry to your 'hosts' file..

Quote:
31.170.162.160 fludded.net
Then your expired domain should be visible in your browser..

I'm asssuming you do know what/where your 'hosts' file is.
