Default server41 with 552 Quota Exceeded issues? - 06-16-2012, 02:29 PM

Hi, even though I have been quite active these last 2 days changing my site I don't know why would I have this error on FileZilla.
It's not constant though. But it screws uploads and I have to keep redoing folder uploads to ensure that no file is 0 bytes, etc.

Hosted on server41

Thanks.
I'd like to add that even though there have been some bumps in the road, 000webhost has been a great experience.

Are you nearing the maximum number of individual files? (10k)

Hi nevermore. Thank you for the reply.
Oh boy... I didn't know about 10000 upload limit. Does it reset? Where can I check my total uploads number?
Will Wordpress features that require upload use FTP and will be affected by this?
This is a punch in the stomach

Side question also related with upload: How can I extract/uncompress an already uploaded *.zip file? I don't see a way to do it in the file manager.

Thanks

The 10K limit is not necessarily uploads, but rather the number of individual files you can have on your server at any given time. This includes all your wordpress and plugin files. If you hit the limit, you will need to delete some and the number will of course go down.

000webhost doesn't have a feature in the CP to count them, and the FTP count is often wrong, but I have a small script HERE you can use to do a quick check.

Thanks a lot mate for the insight. I was seeing my little site development efforts going bad.
So I just need to keep the number of hosted files tighter. That's quite manageable compared to the "no more uploads" scenario I was understanding

I'll just delete some plug-ins and that should come down.

Cheers
