Default missing webpages - 08-16-2012, 11:14 PM

Dear Sir,
I have send some 13 web pages up using Filezilla.
When I go to the site and check the folders all the files are there.
But my pages are not accessable , each time I type in my address all I get is a page that is red and named Queensland.
I might have made an error somehow and put this file somwewhere but I cannot find it so that I can delete it in the hope that my web site will work.
Is there any way that you might be able to assistme ion this .
This is only my second time using an FTP program so I am not all that familier with it.
I would appreciate any help you can give.
Thanking you in advance,
Kind Regards,
Martin A Bot.

First and most obvious thing, did you upload your content to the server within the public_html folder/directory?

It's easy to make that mistake, but you can configure Filezilla to remember the correct location for you..

Go to Site Manager, select the correct entry, click the Advanced tab, then enter /public_html as the Default remote directory.

Dear Sir,
Yes I have send them all to the public_html folder.
What is weird no matter what hyperlink( web address) I type in the address barthe same page opens up, Queensland.
I fear that I have made an error in the first instance and now I cannot find that page so that I can delete it and get my web site up and running.
Is there some way to make this file either accessable /disappear completely.
I would be very grateful for your assistance.
Kind REgards,
Marti.,

Hello,

You should note that the server is case sensitive, so if a website is not found on your site will return a 404 error page.

Some browsers/ISPs have custom 404 error page, so when they encounter this error, they direct your browser to a page that they decide.

A link to your site help you find the problem.

Finally, you can reset your web site (will erase all data, files and databases) using the "Cleanup / Reload Account" you can find on the control panel of your website (in the last row) .
