I am installing Joomla from scratch and for some reason I can't create the folder called "plugins". I have tried numerous ways, from uploading the folder via ftp, to creating the folder directly, to uploading the folder ziped, etc. I just can't get it to stick, when I try to upload it zipped it keeps uploading and re-uploading non-stop. Very odd, what could be the reason for this?

These are the error messages that appear when I try to create the folder "plugins":

and

Directory plugins could not be created.

Here is another error message:

Response: 550-Quota exceeded: mod_footer.xml won't be saved

So do we have a 6000 files limit still? The 1.5 Joomla installation has more files than that. Is there some way to get around this?
