I was just having a conversation with someone who is about to buy a Mac.

I was against it and an argument started.

I said there were too few people supporting the Mac.

He responded, "When was the last time you heard of a virus on a Mac?"

And I said "See, even people who write viruses don't support Macs."

A few people have written viruses for Mac however.
Its such a difficult system to understand.

A Mac dude and a Windows dude:
Windows: I paid $1500 for a very powerful PC :)
Mac: I paid $3000 for the same PC, but I don't get viruses and I don't have to pay for the AV :)
Windows: I don't have to pay for AV's neighter, every heard of AVG, Avast or so? But there are viruses on Mac anyway. AND the only AV on Mac is pretty expencive.
Mac: Well, I can do all the cool things like editing videos, pictures etc. on my Mac
Windows: Like I cannot edit videos and pictures.. ? I can play the best games on the marked.
Mac: I can just install Windows on my PC, but you can't install Mac on your!
Windows: Want to bet if I can install Mac on my PC? And feel free to install Windows and say welcome to the viruses :)

Linux: Well fuck you, I am Open Source, free for viruses, have great (free) video, picture, music editors available, multiple game studios is developing new games for me, aswell as recoding the old to work for me. So I winz!

Well.. let's be honest, all of the operation systems you buy nowdays are at pretty high level, so the only thing that really matters, is the fact that you like to use it.

I like to use Windows computers, but I really love using Linux, I didn't entirely like the Mac (yes I had a Mac... shame on me ), but that's me.

I've switched completely away from Windows. I'm currently using two Linux boxes. (laptop and desktop). The only reason I boot to windows is for a couple of games that just don't work on wine.

Don't buy a Mac. You're only buying marketing.

MAC's are not compatible with too many games, which I what I like. :P

I'm currently looking for an Apple laptop. I intend to get an old used one, however, because they work good enough for me and that's all I can afford

Also, the reason people who make viruses don't make them for Mac very often is that 1. The are Windows users and Mac is more like Linux than Windows, 2. They figure they'll hit more people if they make viruses for Windows because more people use Windows, or 3. They're Mac users and they're afraid if they do make a virus for Mac it'll kick them in the rear

I'm probably going to make a lot of people unhappy right now, but I feel like I must state my opinion.

First off, you can not legally install OS X on any other computer besides a Mac. You can install Windows on a Mac legally.

Alright, Macs are expensive. We all know that, and of course some of the money goes to marketing and branding and whatnot. But they use only high quality hardware. You wonder why Macs generally outlast PC's... it's the high quality inner stuff.

I generally think that people who hate Mac OS X don't like it because they don't know how to use it or they are unfamiliar with it.
