Chip Before PCs

I've been getting two warning messages "...Syslog has been disabled for security reasons.." & "...Openlog has been disable for security reasons..." after much digging around I suspect this is "normal behavior" (ala Apple speak) for checking php configuration I find disabled_functions syslog & openlog. I can't see a way via cpanel to change this. Can you please confirm or point me in the right direction for both aspects?
