If you put the files there, do you not still have them on your own pc? (back up)

Thank you! In three days you are the first person who writes in connection with my problem. (Tickets included.)

No unfortunately I don't have a backup of every file. It happened during an update of Wordpress. But it's more a matter of principle.

For me, any changes, especially custom modifications of files I back up instantly; including database. Not bothered about plugins or other stuff that can be downloaded again. As for having to wait, well yeah it's a pain but most staff are volunteers apparently - and it is the holiday season, plus a weekend.

It's not about the wait, it's that no one actually tries to help just repeating the same sentences word by word and demanding money.

In other words, it is not stated clearly. And surely no words on the upgrade thing.

I know it's a free service, but if so, do users deserve such an attitude?

Moreover, you advertise your service as being "Better than paid hosing". What makes it better?

It's easy to transfer host, if you have your own domain that is. Just wait for the DNS to propagate. Then you have your site up again

Lol! true when your car is clamped this happens.

However the people that do this are required by law to have
clearly visible warning signs

in the areas where they operate.

For those of us with their own computer and therefore naturally have backups your hidden usage policy is only a minor annoyance. We simply move on to other providers or slip back in under the radar within minutes.

But for those less fortunate who spent what little money they had and countless hours in cyber cafes because they cannot afford a PC. Trying to better themselves and their lifestyle discovering these hidden rules are like a hammer blow to the head.

Would it really be so hard to give them their code & database back as a zipped file attached to an email or two before you wipe the account?

Simply destroying all their hard work just because they broke a rule you did not tell them about IMHO words such as narcissistic and petulant spring to mind but as you run a business I'll treat you as an adult and appeal to your wallet simply saying it does not look like this hidden minefield policy of yours is encouraging people to pay for hosting with you.

First off, I think the service here is beyond comparison when it comes to free hosts but I do have a few concerns. I have to agree with some of those who have voiced their complaints about the way in which suspended or cancelled accounts are handled. I had a test-site cancelled due to hitting the SQL table limit and I was completely unaware a limit existed. I was told that there was nothing I could do to get the test site back, not even upgrading to premium. Why is that?

At this point, I'm hesitate about upgrading any of my clients sites here because I do not know if there are unknown limits on premium accounts and what happens to a premium account that has been cancelled? Is there any way of regaining access to a cancelled premium account?

Also, there are several things I've noticed that are NOT in the terms and conditions. For example, the 20% CPU limit and the 500 table limit on SQL databases are not in there. Were these pieces of information left out intentionally so that people would "violate" terms and get cancelled/suspended? Do admins think that this will cause more people to upgrade? If so, has the campaign of making rules but not stating what the rules are been successful in generating revenue?

000webhost is for sure better than much paid hosts around the net. For example, I'm paying for an host here in Portugal for my personal project because I know the owner of the hosting site and he is a friend of mine, but for my personal site and some projects I have I use everytime 000webhost.

Here I have the 20% CPU Usage limit (I think) and there I have 15% and this is because if you use more than that you should a deactualized script or you should move into a VPS. A small site, never uses more than 2GB of space and more than 1% of CPU.

And you are lucky because 000webhost have high limits about files, because I've already been with a free hosting (and was part of the staff team) site where you had a file limit of 1000.
