Default The End of the World - 03-12-2009, 12:44 AM

In my country (Indonesia) prophecy said that on 21/12/2012 a big comet turns out our world to pieces, Meaning the end of the world.
So from now on correct your bad habits and your mistakes, and pray for forgiveness,
Do you believe it is true?

I don't believe it's true. There have been thousands of end of the world prophesies and, so far, they've all been wrong.

If it is true, we have less than three years left so I don't see the point in spending time correcting mistakes and would want to enjoy my bad habits, as much as possible, while I'm able to.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about the end of the world...I imagine humans will have eradicated themselves long before that happens.

i believe anything is possible. especially when God is in control and i would never doubt what God says; even if that means the end will be tomorrow, next year, 11 yrs, 33 yrs or 3,000 yrs from now

lavendargirl...

Do you think it more likely God speaks to us through Indonesian prophecies or the Bible?

If you believe the answer is "Indonesian prophecies", I guess there's no point in making any long-range plans.

If, though, you believe the answer is "the Bible", I don't think there's any way Revelation, chapter 20 can be interpreted that doesn't guarantee us, at least, another thousand years, “but of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven..."

Likely, a good policy. I don't understand why you're telling me, though, as I don't see there's anything to "debate". Politics aren't involved and religion is a matter of faith. Faith can be attacked or defended but it can not be debated. I wasn't attacking, defending, debating or even commenting on your faith; just making an observation.
