Default How do i know if my chat is Hosted or not? - 06-09-2012, 07:56 PM

I've added a very basic chat script to my forum, but i'm not a fan of it and would like to upgrade to something with video or atleast that gives me some admin abilities...

Soo..How do i know what chats i can use without breaking any rules on 000webhost? Is there an easy way to tell if the chat script is hosted off site or not?

BTW i don't know if this will help BUT, My domain is:

Hello,
Remember that installing chats in your 000webhost server is not allowed for free accounts and your site may be canceled.

A chat is external when it is hosted on another server (different domain). Normally to install this type of chat you have to add some code (including the domain where the chat will be hosted).

So even External chats aren't allowed?

My current chat is Addonchat...It looks like the link to the chat is http://clientX.addonchat.com/chat.js Is that an internal or external chat? Is it allowed?

Basicly...as long as it points to a different Domain name then my own to open the chat, its ok?

addonchat.com chat that apparently is external and if permitted.

in general any other chat website that will generate a html code embed a few lines of code is almost certain that the chat is running on external servers to 000webhost. is an external chat allowed

but if they ask you to install php files and / or create tables in mysql is almost certain to run on 000webhost. and that is not allowed.

Another point to consider is the content of chat, notwithstanding that the service is running on another server, it also enforces content rules. for example, no sex, no warez etc etc.
