Haven't been here for a while to say hello to everyone. HELLO!
We are also required to log into the forum every so often. Hello staff and mods, hope you are all doing well.

Made some improvements to my site (signature) and added quite a few new images.

Interested in what you all think. Enjoy the backgrounds.

I can never claim to be a good website builder. I will find code snippets to do what I need to be done. I personally don't see the need to make others more money by doing twitter. They don't pay me. People spend too much time making them money on their work. What do they pay you? My goal is to build my own brand. What incentive is their to make somebody else more money?

Just to clarify...

The initial concept of utilizing Social Media (IE: Twitter or Facebook) is to drive traffic to YOUR website, bringing YOU more traffic, and subsequently making YOU money (if that is the basis of your website), not the other way around. Linking with social media is simply a marketing scheme, creating a network of back-links (which is utmost important for decent search engine ranking) and generating traffic for YOUR website.

Well, let's test your theory with facts.
Do you remember myspace? Did you ever have an account with them? That was also going to be the greatest thing ever.

Did you know that twitter pays certain celebrity people just to log on and get people to follow them? Did you also know that the person who responds to you is probably just an assistant and not the person who has opened that account? Major companies hire social accounts people to handle all incoming messages and not the person you think it is.

I want to get traffic with providing people with something that I made or provide. Promoting somebody elses site helps them. Why maintain a website and then a sub site on facebook, twitter, myspace or something else not yet launched? You can build a site or just elect to be part of their ecosystem. If you do it's your decision. They paid sheen something around $100 thou for every tweet at one point. What good did it do for you? Most people give away things that they could actually sell, just so they can see their name or handle posted somewhere. They made the money off of what you gave them. I would call that bad business.

Let's just say that we differ.

For those who appreciate what I do, I want to thank you. It's nice to see good feedback on what I do rather than I text and agree on what somebody else has written. Thanks losak, shock, gav!

My sincere apologies... my intention was not to offend anyone or their beliefs nor to begin a debate, but only to offer my knowledge as an educator in the field of web development and the subsequent marketing and optimization of same... and only because you had asked for our thoughts.

With regards to your response, I fail to see the relevance of your argument to the issue of generating traffic (audience) to your website and your fine work... but I assume this is irrelevant to your query, so suffice to say...

Your site offers some beautifully created graphics, truly great work. I only hope to see you gain the full potential of proper recognition on the world wide web. Best wishes in your endeavors

You titled your thread as site improvements. Someone gave you suggestion. For me, social network is the future. The only one I don';t trust now is Facebook and I use Google+ instead to "share my articles so that my social circle can view them." In turn it gives me traffic. You advertise them of course but it's a small price to pay.
