He has it hidden only to members, which is a bad idea, cause since it looks empty, everybody will just leave, the best idea is to allow guests to see the boards and topics, but maybe not allow them to download attachments, etc.

Id really advise you reconsider doing that, I tried something like this a while back, and it failed, due to the fact that if a random person comes along to your site, they will just close it and go to another if it looks like there is one board there, cause the point of going to a site is to get information, and hiding all of the posts doesn't help that. The only thing that I would suggest using the hiding feature for is maybe premium boards, and a staff section.

Please consider this.
