This is my first website.
I need help with ideas, what can I put on it?
Keep in mind im new to webdesign, I am only capable of simple things.
Put the top left link smack in the middle of the page, but bigger and mark it as job done and complete.
It’ll probably go viral 
Nice work. You should probably use a template if you want to further improve the layout. 
Download some free templates.View the source code and see how they add navigation bars,side bars and … Don’t copy and paste.Learn how they wrote the code and apply your own version to your site.
Don’t download any templates… It’s best to start off making every detail by yourself. I would recommend watching some tutorials on youtube. But using a template as a beginner is kinda cheating.
If you do have to use a template, go ahead and get an idea on how websites can be laid out
That is what I am talking about.Get ideas of the web page structures by seeing various source codes.Not about cheating… 
I find the best way is to look around other website’s to get concepts and Idea’s then open up photoshop and incorporate the Idea’s together creating your own design. . . . .
It is very simple to make a good looking site because simplicity is key in most designs I’ve made a few website that aren’t “hard” to make but because they are so simple they tend to look good.

So as I was saying with Most site’s I find simplicity is key for beauty…
And also the design is half of the battle then you have the coding to come. . . .
