How to install Drupal 8.5.5 on 000webhost

Welcome to the image heavy tutorial on how to install Drupal MINIMAL mode on 000webhost.

Requirements

000webhost free account and a website created on it.
ONE FRESH 000WEBHOST DATABASE WITH NO ABSOLUTELY NO REQUESTS USED.
The installation ZIP from Drupal:here
FTP client FileZilla was used here else File Manager can be used
unzipper.php :here

Head to Drupal and download the ZIP file!

Now firstly open up your FTP client and upload the ZIP file!

You can also upload it using the File Manager.

Now upload unzipper.php via FileZilla or make a new file on File Manager and paste the contents of unzipper.php

Visit your site address and hit unzipper.php or the file you created with the zip script.

Extract by hitting Unzip Archive.

Now you’ll hopefully see this green message.

Head back to your website and this SHOULD load else hit index.php or install.php in the directory.

Select your language.

Choose a profile (minimal used in this tutorial)

Now head onto 000webhost.com and create your database.
Hit new database.

Choose a suitable name, user and password and REMEMBER them!

NOW DON’T MOVE! Wait till it has created before resuming the installation!

Head back to the install once created and you’ll see a few boring messages about OPCODE Caching not being enabled (check out Hostinger if you want the full ■■■ install working perfect)

Hit continue anyway

Type in the details you created just a moment ago.

You can use a different table name prefix if you need to.

Now it should install - slowly but surely!

SLOWLY…

GETTING THERE…

EVENTUALLY…

ALMOST…?

NEARLY?

COME ON…?

NOW???

HIP HIP

HURRAY!

Choose the suitable information for YOUR website!

Hit this nice SAVE AND CONTINUE button!

A few moments later…

Tada! The bare themed install is completed!

Go find a nice theme for yourself!

Tada! Installed and looking good.

Now it is time for you to make your WEBSITE! Make it big and make it loud!

Drupal is UNOFFICIALLY supported on 000webhost, our free package is just a little bit too limited it seems sometimes for Drupal to correctly work and you may face errors with the install, using it or just simply visiting your site too many times. We CANNOT provide support for Drupal - community members may comment but we do not advise Drupal to be installed on the free service.

I urge you to take the free trial of Hostinger and install it there, you’ll see how much faster it runs straight off the bat!
