Great Topic! I'm a HTML/CSS Newbie, here's a few free tools I use :

Always on the hunt for truly free, good quality photos, this one is my absolute favourite, over 400,000 high res images!

More good quality, free Image resources

I also use Google Chrome and FileZilla, I use Glary Utilities to clean up and then there is a bunch of other stuff around that has already been noted before.

I didnt see the THUNDERBIRD (by Mozilla). The better free alternative to Outlook by Microsoft, which is pure rubish, paid of course lol.

For me, as a Linux user, it has to be:

Blender - for 3D graphics dev
Gimp - for normal graphics dev
Inkscape - for creating KDE 4.x themes
FireFox - web browsing
FileZilla - ftp
Bluefish - web dev
KWrite - good for PHP, HTML and the like
Audacious - nice music player
VLC - what can I say

Alright, I know this is a bit old but it is a good topic idea.
I use Notepad++ and have used GIMP in the past.

I was wondering what you were meaning by Grave Digger, I thought it was a name for a program at first (lol @ me). It took me a few seconds to get it
