Default Need some information about buying a domain - 08-01-2012, 07:06 PM

Hello,

I'd like to buy a domain from namecheap (i think) but I need some information first:

1. Can I pay directly (transfer money) using a debit card ? - without paypal or anything else
2. How do I pay ? - I know I have to choose a domain, complete a form with my name/email, and then they send me an Email with their bank account, or what ?
3. How can I confirm that I paid ? If I do the money transfer how do they know that it was from me? Do I have to send them receipt ?
4. Can I register the domain using my name and pay using another person's card ?

Hope someone can help a bit, it's the first time I want to buy a domain...so...I'm confused

Hello,

I think these questions would be better in the forum/form namecheap, although I don't close the thread so if any other user wants he can respond you.

As d3iti suggested, only the domain registrar can answer those questions...
Most registrars will only accept major credit card and/or paypal. The reason for this is due to all of the questions you asked... making it simpler and more secure.

If you do not have a credit card and/or Paypal account, you can simply opt to purchase a prepaid credit card. They come in denominations as little as $25, and can be used anywhere without any hassle or ID requirements.

Ok, I asked this because I wanted to know if someone (here) managed to buy a domain without a paypal account. I'll ask on their forums, too.

@d3iti, you can close the thread if it makes you feel better

Hollend, sorry. I think I expressed myself badly.
My goal is not to close the thread, so I'll leave the thread open.

It really depends on the company you are buying. In my case, I purchased my domain at my country's web hosting and I had to pay their account name through bank.

In case of namecheap, they accept Visa, MasterCard, Paypal check at the bottom of the site. Just follow their registration process it's namecheap so you won't get lost.

It's better to submit a ticket at their website.

I'm interested in paying by directly transfering money from my debit card to their account - until now I wasn't able to find information about their account...or about this payment method. If I register a domain, do they send me an email containg the payment information, or telling me where to transfer the money?

I submitted a ticket - hope they'll answer soon.
