In an inbound link from offsite (if possible)

If you have a flickr account, link to your site from the descriptions in the photos (only if they are relevant to your content), ditto for myspace and facebook accounts. Besides its always good to save a little storage and bandwidth by hosting photos offsite.

*In META keywords. It's not necessary for google, but a good habit. Keep your META keywords short (128 characters max, or 10).
|
It is good also to include a few short (relevant) phrases that could also double as search terms, remember there are always people that will type a fully formed question into a search engine, you will almost always land on the 1st page in the results if you have something like "how to fix lamps" right in the key words when someone asks Google "how to fix a lamp?"

*In the top portion of the page in the first sentence of first full bodied paragraph (plain text: no bold, no italic, no style).

The problem with this one is that the writing of the first paragraph often suffers in exchange for pr. I'd argue that it's better to cater to the readers (which will return your focus with some link love or a few stumbles) than to write "business first and well later"
All in all though, excellent tips.
