Have had bad free-host experiences, how does this host compare to others?

Hello! ^_^V

I have just moved my site here as my last host (nxserve) closed down with no notice. I was updating the site and on the forums in the morning, but when I returned in the afternoon they had closed permanently without giving any notice at all! I was lucky to still be able to access the cpanel port of their server and got most of my data back, but I am sure many people will find they cannot do this later >.< !

This is not the first time I have been caught out on free-host services. I am currently attending college and only working few hours so can not afford paid-hosting, but I have time to help people out online so I am usually an active forum member wherever I am.

I would like to see how some of you have found this service (the free one), in particular if anyone has used it for some time. I do not need masses of space or bandwidth, but would just like to know if this is a stable free host for my small site, this host seems appropriate, but I thought that last time and before that!

It is too easy to look at numbers and form a decision from that, but that is what I have done before, so this time I am thinking less about numbers and more about real experiences!

Since they upgraded the servers the free hosting has become more reliable. I been with them for a year and all my websites run fine, minus a few mysql errors now and again (old servers), this is a great free host.

Thank you for your feed back, a year is certainly a long time in net terms, and hopefully longer than I will need free service for! ^_^

I couldnt believe how my last host didnt let people know they were closing, and had been a member for a couple of months with people who had been there a little longer mostly. I see the boards here have many more members and posts so that encourages me somewhat. ^_^b

I do not know if anyone else had had the rug swept out from under them like this, but it has left me feeling a little unsettled about the hosting of my site. (>.<)

As soon as I can find some regular work I will be happy to pay for hosting, but you cant help feel at someone elses mercy when using free-hosting. Not to say I do not appreciate it!

now the cpanel is totally closed, so everyone else is screwed

wel i come from X10hosting dhe where gread bud now the servers are more offline dhen online

servers in 000webhost is tooooooooooooooooooooooo slow
and thiere service is bad
and they limite us
and they delete accounts without reason.
!!!!

I thought their servers were pretty fast. I am on a free plan and I just noticed that my site is up for review. I hope my site meets all the TOS requierements. But so far, I thought the free service was pretty sweet.

I am sorry you feel this way but there are TOS for a reason. Also as the admin stated that the server that is currently having new accounts added too it is always slow untill the server is changed.
