Question How to display second menu? (need help with commands) - 06-27-2009, 05:34 PM

Hello!

I have searched the forums for this question but have either found that the question was asked ambiguously or that it wasn't exactly what I needed. Either way, I couldn't find an answer.

I am using Webhost's free sitebuilder to build my site. I would like to add a second menu to the menu bar, but I do not know the commands to modify the template. I tried to mirror the same command as the main menu, but this does not make the second menu appear. I've been able to alter the template for everything else I want to do except this.

Can someone help me with the correct language/commands to alter the template to display my second menu? (or post a link where I can read it somewhere else if I have missed it?).

Thank you,

Jessica

My site is www.summitcountymounted.org

I looked at your website, I don't know if you have already found a solution since I only saw one menu bar on top.

Anyway, what you need to do to make a second navigation bar is to duplicate the HTML code and the CSS on your page. Then you MUST change the ID tags in the second navigation bar to make them unique to that particular menu. Then style it and position it on your page and you are done.

An id tag can only be used in connection to one element on your page, this is why it doesn't work right if you just try to copy and paste what you have now and don't make any changes to it.

I did figure it out. The problem was that I forgot to change the ID tags. There's only one menu bar right now because the pages aren't quite finished yet and I can't decide if I want to do it that way anymore or not.

Thanks anyway! =D
