Default How to delete default php - 08-06-2011, 01:32 AM

Help,
My website was deactivated because it had not been used for quite awhile. When I tried going onto my website an error appeared. Since I know very little about this and the person who created my webpage is no longer available I decided to see if I could figure this out. I checked and made sure my domain was current. It appears to be. I did not know who hosted my web but with a bit of research found out it was 000webhost.com. I believe I reactivated my account. However now it says that my website has been successfully installed on server. Please delete file default php from public_html folder and upload your website by using FTP or web based file manger. Can someone help me figure this out. Is my webpage still at webhost.com?

what is the domain (aka website address)?

The default php is the page that comes up when you type in your address into your website browser, Chrome, Safari, etc. It needs to be deleted so that your website (which is essentially hiding behind the default page) can be seen.

Your website shows up fine. It shows "Index of/", which means you just have your website files in the wrong folder.

Move files from the sub-folder to the public_html folder.

Couldn't a index.php be placed in that directory redirecting to the directory that they are in?

Yes you could use a simple javascript:

<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
window.location = "http://www.YOUSITEHERE/FOLDER/"
//-->
</script>

Couldn't think of a fancy signature, so you get a instead.
