Exclamation Is it possible to get a blank page without all the template stuff? - 08-14-2011, 02:26 AM

Currently I have a template, but I was wondering, if it was possible to have an exclusive page that doesn't have any of the template stuff (ie. columns, rows, logo, banner, that kind of stuff) When I create a new page, it gives me the option to use a template, but when you click the drop down arrow you HAVE to select a template, I just want a blank page without any template stuff, that I can put some code into, and then from that page, direct everyone to all my other pages that actually have a template.

You could just create an html page using notepad. That would give you an entirely blank, white page. Just upload it to the right spot and your all set. Of course you could change the html to whatever you wanted to give you more than just a white screen.

Ahh that's a really good idea, How can I upload it and get it to work with the Website builder to treat it as an actual page though?

If the website builder pages are not encrypted (in your browser go to your site and view the source, sometimes called developer tools). If you can see the plain html, then it will be easy. If you can't, (meaning you get a whole bunch of javascript) then I'll figure it out and let you know how to do it. Just make sure you include a doc type at the top of your html file.

They aren't encrypted, I just don't see wheere exactly I would upload the blank .html file. Would it go in "public_html"? and am I doing this through the FTP manager?

If you just want to upload a blank file. create it with notepad.
for exampel blankfile.htm then uploaded it via a ftp client or one of the file managers in the cPanel. It would go IN the folder public_html. Access blank file by going to yourdomain.com/blankfile.htm.

Couldn't think of a fancy signature, so you get a instead.

You might have to rename your current index file if you want a blank home page.

Only needs to rename when wanting to have the page as homepage? If a blank page does the job alone no rename is needed.

You seem to be up early in the morning and late at night. Not that it's late yet.
