Default Help with Template editing!! - 02-08-2012, 12:16 PM

I finally figured out how to ad some sidebars onto my template through the layout design editor in the website builder.

The sidebars look great on my 14 inch widescreen laptop, but on my netbook the sidebars overlap and obsure 30% of main page content.

Is there any way to adjust the template so it automatically fits a screen of any size?

if not, How do I shrink the main body so the content and the sidebars come out proportional to each other on most screen sizes?

Set the width of the main portion to a percentage instead of a fixed width. That way it will expand or shrink to fit the screen. I suggest setting a min-width of 300px though and a max width of 1600px. It keeps things looking a little better.

Default ok... - 02-09-2012, 03:36 AM

Thats pretty much what I found on a google search, but when I pasted the css code where the tutorial directed and saved the changes, my template went blank and I had to reset it to default.... losing the sidebars.

could you please reply with a sample code of how to set the width and where to put it wothout crashing the template, as those sidebars were starting to show some real earnings!

The only other thing I'm having trouble with is changing the font color for the site title, slogan, and menus. I'm going for a retro Yellow font on Black Background style, but It doesn't quite work with the title and menu still in white.

I've tried just about every method I've found on google and I'm pretty stuck.

I use the stargazer template in the "old" sitebuilder, if that helps
