Question Setting Up DNS through DOT.tk - 08-03-2012, 09:12 PM

Sorry if posted in Wrong Section

Hello I am trying to use DOT.tk with my server hosted at 000webhost using the DNS service. I have tried many things including…

Using they A record IP address given by 000webhost like this.

Also I tried using the name server but every time I put in the URLs it sets the IP address as not available so I left it blank it still never activated.

I know this is possible I've seen other people with it but I never actually saw how it was done since dot.TK has updated.

Hello,

You should note that since you do change may take up to 48 hours until the DNS servers are updated.

Also realize that entering the control panel of your website in the section "View Account Details" shows the IP of the nameservers.
Currently they are:
ns01.000webhost.com 31.170.167.6
ns02.000webhost.com 64.120.10.10

@ zxrcnew:

Your first example looks good, assuming your account is hosted on server 29.

However, the 000webhost's nameservers have no record of the domain css3tricks.tk

Have you either..
  • created a hosting account in that name, or
  • 'parked' that domain name on an existing account

By the way, you might wanna put a blank index.html file in your /img/ directory to cover it up

hei i'm also using dot.tk too. My prior setting I apparently forget, but it's only work without www, every time I use www.soccerville.tk, it always show blank page with only a "Report abuse" text that links to http://www.000webhost.com/report-abuse.

So I change the setting with above, it's working well. Only if I type www.soccerville.tk, it's looks like redirect to soccerville.tk.

NB. btw I also tried NS setting, but it didn't work
