Unhappy Changing the modules on the website - 12-07-2008, 10:17 AM

Is it possible to change the text in the modules? For example, the text 'full name', 'e-mail' in the contact form? I noticed that I can choose the fields I want in my contact form, but can I change the text in them? I'd like to have my site in Finnish but it's not included in the language menu. I managed to translate the names of the pages and the 'powered by...' section, but not the modules. Does anyone know how to change them?

Hi,
I think you are using joomla/Mambo. go to file manager, find components folder, then find there your module name and open it. You will see there files of your module and open them in notepad find your word and translate into your native

I'm not using them... I'm only using the website builder for my site. I checked the files anyway but there wasn't components folder. I found modules folder and thought it might be there, but most of the files in the folder looked like this: Zend 2003120702111514901x
2 n8L쪋!EIE7*v]LՒU2Au_u#E*!E~)ke }`.....

I looked for the contact form in other folders and found it in many places, but it looked like this: {%contact%}, as it does in the website editor. Then I finally found this folder: /public_html/data/db/contact.db.php, and inside it was this text: "?$CONTACT_FORM_SETTINGS = ":email::::subject:|";?." I replaced 'email' and 'subject' with their Finnish equivalents, but the fields disappeared! They reappeared when I put back the English words.

I'm not sure if this explanation is useful. My English isn't that good either but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. I don't know much about website building, as you can see... Is there anything else I could do to change the text in the modules?

OK, i have never use before "website builder" on this hosting. But i can recommend you that do not change strings like ex: {%contact%}, CONTACT_FORM_SETTINGS... they will course problem for you in future.
If there is something like
"?$CONTACT_FORM_SETTINGS = ":email::::subject:|"
you need to change only "email" or "subject", if they are disappeared may be you delete some symbols like : "

Try change something else like "email" or "subject" see what will happen.

To Peter:

I'm sorry but I can't help you to open your website, I'm not very good with computers either... I suggest you post a new thread and write you question there, so people who can help you will see your question.

I used one of template sites and uploaded it.
It works, but the .php files look compiled with Zend

Does anybody know how to decompile them so
I could edit the site?

Thanx in advance
