as far as vBulletin is concerned this link might help you out:

MyBB should be a pretty similar process, except for the Customer Number

did a little something for MyBB here. Turned out to be a very simple installation, have a look and you should have your MyBB up and running in no time.

after download MyBB to your PC. then extract a archive. you'll get 2 folder (there are Upload and Documentation)

just upload folder "Upload" and rename to some name what you want.

after you upload MyBB to your host. then you must CHMOD some directories

There are :
Code:
	./inc/settings.php
	./uploads
	./uploads/avatars
	./cache
	./cache/themes
and then point the browser to uploaded directory with /install suffix. and follow the instruction.

every forums that have installer or upload function must be chmod some file and directory.

so i think MyBB is easier than SMF. (but it's slower than SMF)

but, the easiest forum is phpBB2

phpBB3 is slower than other. I tested in on localhost. It's use too many of resource, more than phpBB2 , MyBB , SMF, and IPB 1.3.

And too many user will have some problem at first time using. such as when create a forum but it doesn't show on index. or can't set a permission for forum. (yes. this is a user's problem). Because the skill from phpBB2 can't use in phpBB3 (all in phpBB3 were different from phpBB2)

Do you know why I use MyBB instead phpBB3 ? because MyBB (1.2 but now 1.4) is very easy to config (like phpBB2) and it have too many features that phpBB3 don't have (such as online css and theme editing) and MyBB have a Plugin System (that meaning you can more function without code editing). It's also can add your own BBCode (Called MyCode) into your board directly through ACP.

it have too many features 'cause it's clone of vBulletin maybe called the lite version of vBulletin

Oh! You're running MyBB 1.4 with theme Afresh Night? I like this theme! I will use this theme when I upgrade my forum from MyBB 1.2.14 to MyBB 1.4 (I developing a data converter from 1.2 to 1.4)
