You need php-gd installed with gettext & ttf support. You have to run it in E_ALL and also make sure to change the permissions to access the true-type font file so that it can write.
Make sure to check the case of your font too , if you specify "arial.ttf" and upload "Arial.ttf" then imagettftext will not work.

When and where you are getting your error? When you upload your website in 000webhost? It would be interesting to see the php code you've created to try to find where the error.
