Default domain problem - 07-06-2012, 08:33 AM

i had a site from another server and had my own domain name so to change over i got told to change the nameservers over then park my domain. but when i use my co.uk i cant sign in it just keeps loading and how do i make my domain my default address

Works for me - http://www.drwhofanzone.co.uk try clearing your cache.

(You didn't have to upload the folder called wordpress, just it's contents)

it works but i have trouble logging in on that address if i use the the first and second link i can sign in and also want to remove the wordpress bit at the end. also is there away to make my parked domain default address

To remove the wordpress folder you have to upload the contents of the folder called wordpress, not the folder itself (as I said earlier ) and then remove the file that redirects to that folder, I believe you've done this here
You've parked the domain straight ontop so I think to get to wp-admin you will always have to use the sub domain address.
For me I'd just open a new account using your domain name and move to there (upload wordpress (the contents, not the folder) to it and import the database there too)

if i use a new account do i need a new mysql. also how would i move all the work from my site i have done now. would i have to install all the wordpress plugins again and upload all the pictures again

No, you upload all your folders and files (with plugins pictures etc with it) to the new account.
You make a new database and import the old database to it. In phpmyadmin in cpanel you can click export to get your old database.

ok and how do i remove the wordpress from that again so it wont be on my new database. how would i remove the name but keep the contents

Upload the contents of the folder called wordpress, not the folder itself.
