Default open_basedir restriction - 10-30-2008, 12:05 PM

Hi, on my forum (vBulletin) I seem to be getting a restriction error while using an avatar off-site (eg. tinypic). The error is:

Warning: tempnam() [function.tempnam]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File() is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/:/usr/lib/php:/tmp) in [path]/includes/class_upload.php on line 275

Is this a restriction that you've set or have I done something wrong? At the start, trying to upload or using an offsite image gave me an invalid compression error but I then disabled GZIP compression on vBulletin - but now I get this error.

It'd be pretty frustrating if I could only have it uploaded. Can staff confirm this, and is there a way to get past this restriction [without getting paid hosting].

Also, the error pretty much explains the problem so I don't think an image would help.
