What moneyback guarantees do you offer?
We do not provide a money back guarantee. This was a 'feature' we had last year, but have since moved it as it was a haven for malicious activity. Should you purchase and then immediately decide you no longer wish to use these services, you will not be eligible for any refund. However, you would still be able to reactivate hosting as you'd still have that attached under your account for the duration you paid.
What is your average uptime?
Our average uptime is about 99.5%, and to see a server status page you may visit http://my.holdfire.net/serverstatus.php
What is your support response time and what does it cover?
The only type of support we provide is ticket based responses, which are available 24/7. Our response times vary on the issue the user has, although typically tickets are answered within the hour, if not less. We do not provide support in developing your website, although if you have specific issues that pertain to your hosting or a feature you need, this is something we will provide support for.
Do you have any coupons or discounts?
At this time we do not have any coupon/promotions, or bonus features to offer you. Rarely do we offer up a feature to an individual. If we add a bonus feature, it is something available to all Holdfire clients.
What else can you tell about your company and services?
This company has been in business since Oct 2005, and has been thriving over the pasr few years allowing us to expand the services we offer. If you'd like to see a little more company info, this can be found via http://holdfire.net/company/. The unique aspect of this company is that personally several of us employees have made intimate relationships with our clients. There are a large portion that we have come to know on a first name basis over the years as they've been loyal clients. Some of them we also converse with outside of Holdfire on a personal level be it in a forum, Twitter, or chat room.
Review of holdfire.net by Marie on 2012/05/25 at 17:47Holdfire was a good host right up until mid 2011, where the original owner stopped updating any of the social network accounts for the company, and in the following months, uptime continually decreased until at one point in February 2012, my site was reverted to its state in either 2008 or 2009. At which point I knew that due to a lack of available support and multiple online forum postings indicating that others were having the same issues, the company had gone under.
Sure, their selling domain is still up, but they have not answered any support tickets, nor is their support website functional for previous customers (it now connects to "flaredhost").
If you are thinking about using Holdfire (now Flaredhost, apparently?) RUN AWAY. Something is very fishy.
I jumped ship back to Dreamhost in February 2012
