What moneyback guarantees do you offer?
We offer a 30 day money back guarantee on some of our plans. To get the refund you'd want to send us an email and ask for the refund before your 30 days are up.
What is your average uptime?
We monitor our servers to see if they go down or have problems but don't track their uptime. We strive to have high uptime but we do need to restart servers to apply the latest kernel, upgrade hardware, or fix hardware. We are open 24x7x365 so any planned downtime is late at night.
What is your support response time and what does it cover?
We do all of our support via email. I must apologize for the delay in responding to this email, our response time is very quick, normally within an hour depending on the problem. You'll want to email questions to firstname.lastname@example.org to get the fastest response since we have people working the help desk 24 hours a day. We can provide minimal support in developing your website. Our development rate is $85/hour, but we can offer free tips and suggestions if you have questions but you'd ultimately be the one who would have to implement them.
What else can you tell about your company and services?
We are unique in that we own and operate our own data center, not many hosting companies have their own data center but we do. We recently launched a new hosting plan called SIPs which are tailored for magento which has been very popular: http://www.nexcess.net/magento/ . We are staffed on site 24x7x365 and we focus on providing excellent support for our customers. Other companies might offer cheaper plans but customers stick with us and recommend us because they know we'll go the extra mile to help them out.

> deleted my site files while restoring a backup
> said they would do a restore over the phone and forgot to do it
> mod security rules block so many actions when editing the site
> ftp connection times out
> ftp passwords stop working unexpectedly
I'm moving my sites elsewhere. But their systems even make that process difficult.

So far they have done a good job until the server upgrade/change. On December 12th, the site went down for a server change. Fine. December 17th, the site is back up, but no longer works. The home page pops up, but you click on a story and it takes you to a page with no story. You click on an author, the formatted page comes up, but no info. You click on a genre, and it doesn't even take you to any page.
It is now December 27, ten days with a non-functioning site and Nexcess has yet to get back to the site owner on when or how they are going to fix this botched server change. So much for "prompt" 24/7/365 service.
There are a lot of fans and authors on the Sycophant-Hex site and no one can read stories or post new ones. Not impressed at all.
