Filezilla won't connect

Hi, I keep getting this error message on Filezilla: Insecure server, it does not support FTP over TLS.

Then this happened:

Status: Connection attempt failed with “ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server”.
Error: Could not connect to server

What do you advise? I’m trying to migrate from the old cPanel.

@Wendy_Cockcroft Can your try again??

Click edit, then run the network configuration wizard please and post back with results?

Tried to connect again. Error message: Status: Insecure server, it does not support FTP over TLS.

If the server is the problem, what do we do about it?

Try this setting.

Sorry, not helpful. Error:

My Filezilla won’t let me connect to the server so I can’t get the site manager up. You’ve got it up and running there.

Use PLAIN FTP

And use this option when it appears

Socket issue will be a local issue on your computer or network, disable your firewall/computer antivirus to see if it allos you to connect then you know you need to whitelist it.

Sorry, there’s no Site Manager window on my Filezilla. I don’t see any of that.

Please show screen shoot

@Wendy_Cockcroft

Yup, am able to upload and download.

Please go through this process:

  1. Open filezilla. Once filezilla window popup
  2. Click File. The drop down menu shown
  3. Click Site Manager… New window popup
  4. Inside the Site Manager window. Click the New Site button
  5. At same window, there is a folder call My Sites
  6. Under My Sites folder you are prompt to give a name for the site.
  7. Any name will be fine. Example:
    –> tplim.000webhost.com instead of tplim.000webhostapp.com
  8. Now the most important part for connection
  9. Under General tab
    9a. Host "files.000webhost.com"
    9b. Port "leave it blank"
    9c Protocol choose "FTP - File Transfer Protocol"
    9d. Encryption choose PLAIN FTP

9e. Logon Type choose "Normal"
9f. User “wendy” (if your site name wendy.000webhostapp.com)
9g. Password “********” (when you created 9f site name)
10. Finally click the Connect button.

This is how I connect via filezilla and it works. If this not work please provide screenshoot.

@Infinity

Hi, you were right. Use Plain FTP. I just did fresh installation of filezilla. Than make connection, everything OK. @Wendy_Cockcroft please follow the latest edit done by @Infinity sure it works. Please use filezilla client.
