How do i stop my domain name from redirecting to subdomain site.000webhostapp.com

I have to web address one is site.com the other is "www.site.com"
for site.com i created an A record on AWS name servers - but i set it up as though i am using the 000webhost nameservers. in 000webhost it’s a parked domain. i didnt figure out how to setup multiple nameservers, since i need to use amazon nameservers for some of the site.com subdomains.
for “www.site.com” i used a CNAME record on AWS

however for some reason when i go to site.com in the address bar it changes to site.000webhostapp.com, same for “www.site.com”

i would appreciate some help. Thanks.
