How to check directly the emails, like gmail.com

Hi all

I would like a direct link to either (SquirrelMail prefrable) just like I would for my gmail.com account to check my email.

Please advise.

Thanks and regards

There is no way of doing that that i would know of. If you try to access http://webmail.000webhost.com/roundcube/ as an example you cannot login with your user details

Hi there, you want a direct link? or you want to forward your email to your gmail?
If you want to use gmail, you can always modify the MX record… So that all of the email sent to your domain, will be organized by gmail and you can login to the gmail using your domain mail account
Please check the feature under “Email” section in your cpanel
Good luck

The features you’re wanting are avaliable if you upgrade.

I’m pretty sure they’re not on the free accounts.

Thanks for all the responses.

Yes, I wanted to use the webmail service outside the management login

I have check out Google Apps, they have multiple MX records but we have only one in the CPanel, that is fine?

Please use only one…
and don’t forget to copied the dot (.) behind the IPs okay… ^^

Thanks a lot.

well, from a techie point of view it´d be better to set at least two MX records with different priorities so if one fails there´s a backup. But that´s just from a technical point of view.

Well, Google MX’s stability is kind of good, so… Using one is pretty fine…

Well, you can use maybe your own hosting’s mx such as 000webhosts MX… At the default, when we make our for the first time here, our account in attached with 000webhost’s MX…

Yep there are a few and even openoffice.org seems to be looking in the direction.

Personally, I use Zoho for mail although I prefer to keep the other stuff on a local machine

I think this may have been what the original question in this thread was.

Basically, what I’m looking to do is to be able to check my domain’s email without having to go through the control panel for the domain… something like http://webmail.mydomain.com or http://mydomain.com/mail.

Is this possible to set up?

Thanks!

no, that´s not possible on free accounts. You would have to upgrade to premium hosting for that

Thanks for the clarification!

Thanks a lot

Here’s something that might help you out a bit.

I’m not sure if this is what you were looking for but you can use the roundcube webmail by using this direct link:

http://webmail.000webhost.com/roundcube/?_task=mail

Just enter your log in information that you have for your domains email and it works fine. I found this out by using the URL that it gives you when you’re logged in to your inbox, just being logged out. Hope it helped. I’m sure the same can be done with squirrel mail.

Oh, cool!! Thanks a lot ZebraNasty
